Samsung Aims at Full-Day Battery for Phones
by admin on Jan.19, 2012, under Mobile
Halfway through the work day, you see your smartphones battery running into the red zone and you find yourself desperately looking for a charging port.

While the phones are getting more feature packed with huge processors and big camera’s the thing getting ignored is the battery. All these features pull out a lot of power which eventually hampers the overall battery performance.
Samsung Electronics hopes to eliminate the battery issue. The company has set a goal that smartphones coming out this year can last all day under average to moderately heavy use, according to Kevin Packingham, vice president of product innovation at Samsung.
“When you wake up to when you go to bed, we don’t want you feeling anxiety about your battery life,” he said in an interview at CES.
The company is working at optimizing different aspects of the phone, such as searches for Wi-Fi or powering up the 4G LTE radio. The Charge, Samsung’s first LTE phone for Verizon Wireless, was a good test bed for the company, but the company can do better. Samsung wasn’t quite there yet in terms of power efficiency, said Packingham.
So with this, we hope Samsung bringing out huge smartphones with greater battery life.
Samsung S5620 Monte Details Sneak peek
by admin on Feb.01, 2010, under Gadgets, Mobile, Technology
Here’s a good news for all the samsung phone lovers we’ve got a glimpse of the Samsung S5620 Monte phone, courtesy of DailyMobile.
Samsung’s Star and Star 3G series of touchscreen phones have proved to be a huge success in India. The first of the Star models were the S5600 and the S5230 which were launched back in 2009. These devices were soon overshadowed by the Corby series, which again are selling like hot cakes. Almost a year down the lane, Samsung has decided to give the Star range a facelift. The Samsung S5620 is said to be the successor to the Star S5600 (also known as the Preston). The device, codenamed the S5620 Monte, looks quite a capable successor and packs in some decent features as well.
The handset is expected to be attributed with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface and appears to feature a 3” display screen. It is touted to proffer 200MB of onboard memory capacity and hosts a 3.5mm headset jack.
Samsung’s as-yet-unannounced device may offer Wi-Fi, 3G and HSDPA connectivity. It is cited to incorporate GPS support and a microSD card slot. The phone is also speculated to possess an in-built camera and Qualcomm processor.
There are whispers about the S5620 Monte running the company’s very own Bada OS too, but then again these are just unconfirmed rumors.
So information on pricing may have to wait until Samsung mouths the official word on their S5620’s release date.

Samsung Corby Pop Announced
by admin on Dec.28, 2009, under Gadgets, Mobile, Technology
Samsung’s scaled down version of its existing S3650 Corby, the C3510 Corby Pop has made its official appearance at the Samsung India website.
Listed under the ‘Coming Soon’ section, it is clear that Samsung is not leaving any stone unturned with garnering as much sales as possible wit the Corby brand. Incidentally, Samsung is also launching a better spec-ed version of the Corby plus a Wi-Fi enabled version as well. The idea it seems is to cater to almost all kinds of consumers ranging from a person who would prefer a cheaper device to the one who would have wanted a few more extra features in the phone.
As for the Corby Pop, it will be a downgraded version of the Corby (not by much though). Almost all the features are the same starting from the 2.8-inch display, integrated FM radio and the UI. The camera though has taken a beating and has now dropped to a 1.3 megapixel unit. But then, the Corby isn’t far better off with its 2 megapixel cam as well. Now, the reason for the existence of the Corby Pop is obvious – Sales.
The Samsung Corby S3650 has been a hit in the Indian market thanks to its price. Samsung is just capitalising on the same and has just made the phone even cheaper. The Corby POP is expected to be priced at around the Rs. 7,000 which, is a very good price for a decent touchscreen phone.
