Indian Government has given Research In Motion (Blckberrry) August 31st the deadline to resolve the government’s security concerns over BlackBerry service. This has become a huge issue let’s see what happens.
RIM Announces BlackBerry Pearl 3G Series in India

Research In Motion (RIM) has launched the new BlackBerry Pearl 3G, the smallest of the Blackberry smartphone line-up. The two new models introduced are the Pearl 9100 and Pearl 9105. Both the models are compact and elegant 50mm wide and weighing only 93g.
The BlackBerry Pearl 9100, featuring a 20-key condensed QWERTY keyboard, and the BlackBerry Pearl 9105, with a 14-key traditional phone keyboard. Both smartphone models include SureType software that can complete words as the user types.

It features a optical trackpad unlike its predecessor having a trackball, a 3.2 MP camera with flash, support for up to 32GB of additional memory via micro SD cards and dedicated keys for volume adding to convenience. The most important of all 3G (HSDPA) makes its way into these, and its just in time with the ending of the spectrum auctions in India.
The Pearl 3G also features -
- 360 x 400 sharp-resolution display (238 ppi)
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi (supports 'n')
- Built-in GPS for location-based applications
- Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0 (micro)
- 624 Mhz processor with 256 MB Flash memory
- 3.2 MP camera with zoom, autofocus, flash and video recording
- MicroSD card support
- 3.5mm handsfree socket
The pricing and availability of the handsets is still not declared but according to us they must be in range of Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000. We expect to hear about the exact details in few days. So stay tuned for our word on the phone when it comes on shelves.
BlackBerry Push Service Now Available to all Developers

A year ago RIM announced that push APIs had become available to its Alliance Program members now its finally taking action. RIM are now offering a brand new feature for the BlackBerry app developers – Push notifications. Developer teams are welcomed to use the BlackBerry Push Service in their own apps bringing live updates to the mobile.

The BlackBerry Push access comes in two packages – Push Essentials the free one and Push Plus with a number of tiers that reflect different options and price points.
With Push service you will be able to receive immediate updates on all your Push-enabled apps such as weather, email, all kind of news, etc.
