We have seen a lot of swanky tablets around the market nowadays but nobody can beat this not so swanky looking tablet from India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development for a challenging price of Rs. 1,500 or $35 only. This one is way cheaper than the $75 OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) option.

This Rs.1,500 device has the form factor of a tablet and supposedly has a 7-inch touchscreen display. It is capable of browsing the web and comes with a keyboard as well. The device has got about 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity and a USB port, which is pretty amazing at such a budget. The tablet has been developed by the government in collaboration with premier scientific institutes like the IITs & IISc.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has plans to reduce the price of this device further down to just $10. If every thing goes according to plan we would be able to see many students sporting the revolutionary device.

Bharti Airtel, has officially launched the iPhone 3GS in India today.

The iPhone 3GS is now available in over 80 countries around the world. iPhone 3GS is the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet, packed with new features including improved speed and performance – up to twice as fast as iPhone 3G – with longer battery life, a 3 megapixel autofocus camera, easy to use video recording and hands free voice control. The iPhone 3GS would be available for Rs. 35,500 for the 16GB model and Rs. 41,500 for the 32GB model. Additionally, iPhone 3G continues to be available in the 8GB version for Rs. 29,500.

According to our sources, the iPhone 3GS is launching this week on 24th of March or at-least the bookings are opening.

There’s confusion wheather only Airtel and Vodafone will be the operators or Airtel , Vodafone , Reliance GSM and Aircel will be involved.

Like previous iPhone’s, the 3GS too will come with a dataplan and will be locked to the network providing the handset for a year. You’ll have to pay around Rs.33500 approx for the 16gb version and Rs.42000 approx for the 32gb version.

The next generation of iPhone, the iPhone 4G is all set to hit the US market but India still havn’t got the 3GS one. This is all due to delay of auction of 3G bandwith.
