Windows Mobile 7

We know that Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 7 is expected to be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2010 convention at Barcelona. Now Adobe has issued a statement apparently confirming what we’ve already heard that Windows Mobile 7 will not support Flash. Adobe itself has apparently issued a statement confirming this news, reported Phone Scoop.

The official statement issued by Adobe says:

"Microsoft and Adobe are working closely together. While the newest version of Windows Phone won’t support Flash at initial availability, both companies are working to include a browser plug-in for the full Flash player in future versions of Windows Phone. More details will be shared at Microsoft MIX next month."

This confirms our news assuming Adobe means Windows Mobile 7 when it talks about "the newest version of Windows Phone".

No support for Flash in a huge mobile operating system update sounds a bit disheartening since Flash is essential component of the mobile web. This is a really sad news for Windows Mobile users as multitasking in Windows Mobile 7 might not be there

by admin on Jan.05, 2010, under Mobile, News

Apple Quattro
It was rumored last evening, but now its official, Apple has pulled the trigger and made its acquisition on mobile ad network Quattro Wireless. Sale price wasn’t disclosed, $275 million is the amont being thrown around, the company’s CEO Andy Miller has been immediately promoted to Apple’s newly-minted VP of Mobile Advertising possesion. In a news post on Quattro’s site, Miller says that its products and services won’t change “for now”. But considering that it offers tailored advertising across a huge bounty of devices and platforms, we have to imagine Apple’s long-term strategy is going to involve making this framework more of an App Store value-add for developers. Time will tell, one thing is for sure that this may prove good if it makes life easier, giving us free apps or finally ushers in the era of free, non-carrier-subsidized, ad-supported smartphones.
