Google Voice For Android & Blackberry Launched
by admin on Jul.16, 2009, under Mobile, News, Technology
Google has launched Google Voice mobile app for Blackberry and Anaroid phones. Google Android and RIM BlackBerry phone owners will enjoy better call management with Google’s Voice service starting today. Google Voice is Google’s next novel service that allows managing several phone numbers with one unique number and also converts voicemails to emails. The invite-only registration has been open to all. However, the service is not available to folks outside U.S.

Vincent Paquet, senior product manager of Google Voice, told that all Google Voice users who own Android or BlackBerry handsets would be able to user the service directly from their handsets today onwards. However, iPhone owners will have to wait for the iPhone version of Google Voice, which is being held for unknown reasons.
Google Voice was introduced in March this year and recently, Google was reported for booking a million numbers for this service. A single Google Voice number allows users to use a single number in lieu of their home, work or cell phone numbers and also get voicemails messages in form of text transcripts in mail.
Android based handset owners will be able to download the Google Voice App from Marketplace. BlackBerry owners will have to get the app from Google instead of their App World.
Features available are:
- Access to voicemail: read message transcripts, follow along with “karaoke-style” playback of messages, read SMS messages sent to your Google Voice number (even if your phone doesn’t receive SMS messages) and access your call history
- Place calls that display your Google Voice number from your address book, the app dialer (Blackberry) or the native dialer (Android)
- Send SMS messages that display your Google Voice number
- Place international calls at low rates

The application can be downloaded from Google Voice mobile website at m.google.com/voice, for those not using Blackberry or a Anaroid phone it can be downloaded by typing www.google.com/voice in your mobile’s browser
BlackBerry Onyx sporting optical trackball leaks out
by admin on Jul.11, 2009, under Gadgets, Mobile, News, Technology
RIM’s (Research In Motions) getting serious about optical trackballs – first the Curve 8520 and now it looks like the Onyx has been upgraded as well. Here is a sneek peak to the Onyx.
That’s pretty much just as we’ve all expected ever since we first laid eyes on this 3G mashup of the Bold and Curve 8900, and we’re pretty stoked about it, as we find optical trackballs to be pretty great. As usual, there’s no word on a ship date, but we’re hoping it’ll be soon.
BlackBerry Magnum Image Leaked
by admin on Jul.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Mobile, News, Technology
It has been a boring time for all BlackBerry fans out there with no new product launches or rumors in air.
Thankfully, only days after we heard of about OS 5.0 running on the Storm, we come across this at unwiredview.com that might just help you get off that same chair.
Remember, the Blackberry Magnum that was first talked about sometime in April? The phone has made an appearance again (yay!) As always, the leaked image seems to have been taken by the worst photographer in the world with the worst piece of equipment he could come across. Thankfully, you could make out it’s a Blackberry (for obvious reasons). The all-important screen has been intelligently ‘masked’ using a (used?) sachet of Trojan Magnum con***s. Funny? yes it is.

The reason why the screen was oh-so-important was because of the fact that this one happens to be the first Blackberry to sport a full QWERTY keypad along with touch-input support. The screen is likely to be similar to existing Blackberry ones with a 480*320 resolution. The phone will also be 3G capable, as we have herd. No news as to when the Magnum makes its official appearance, hopefully it’ll be soon.
