After the Apples’s iPad making news its time for DELL.Not only did Michael Dell let out word about the company’s upcoming Dell Mini 5 slate, he also let TechCrunch take a quick look at it.
Dell’s CEO flashed the slate at the World Economic Forum which was convened in Switzerland, says Crunchgear. The device appears to run Android 1.6 and is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It sports an in-built 5MP camera and offers Wi-Fi, 3G mobile as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
Michael Dell also claimed that the 5” tablet will be out within a few months. Until more specifications about the Dell Mini 5 slate emerge, the price tag seems a little heavy to most for such a device. The anticipated price is cited to be $1,098 (approx. Rs.50,804) before carrier subsidy.
Google’s Nexus One, The iPhone Killer

Possibly this is the iPhone killer you were waiting for?
We already knew this was about to coming, but now its official, let’s go ahead and do the official "launch" story!
So, the much sought after "GooglePhone", the Nexus One has been officially unveiled by Google (in chagrin with HTC) at its much talked about Android Press Event earlier today. The phone, termed by Google as a "superphone" has the looks, the specs and the backing to take on the mighty iPhone. The specs which are the same as we had posted in our earlier stories about this device does make the phone a powerful computing device, bundled in a 11.9mm, 130gram package. The Nexus One is now officially available in the US and will soon be available in "most countries" across the globe. Officially, it is not here in India though as yet. We would be taking an in-depth look at the phone, its future prospects and if this thing really blows the iPhone away.

The unlocked Nexus would cost you a cool USD 529, (Rs.25,000) which seems to be a good price for the phone of this calibre. That by the way sure does not look like the price at which the Nexus One will arrive officially in India! That said, the current iteration of the phone does NOT support the 3G bands that will be operational in India, maybe this year only. However, Google has confirmed that more localized versions of the Nexus One is on the anvil — so we have that bit covered.
Here are all the tit bits of the killer baby.

Aside from these features, HTC has also developed a new UI to run on the OS that they are calling the HTC Sense that is designed to deliver on three basic principles: Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected.
Make It Mine
Make It Mine is a concept created with the sense of instilling the idea about feeling like your HTC phone was created for and by you. HTC has designed this UI to be extremely customizable so users can organize how you want to access content in a way that fits you best. You can at a glance view widgets that push content like Twitter feeds, weather and other content to the surface while others may want quick access to business-focused information like email, calendar and world-times. HTC is also introducing a new profile feature called Scenes that will enable users to create different customized content profiles around specific functions or times in their life.

Stay Close
HTC Sense takes a different approach to personal communication by integrating communication channels and applications into one single view enabling you to stay closer to your important contacts. With HTC Sense, friends' Facebook status updates and photos along with their Flickr photos are included with their text messages, emails and call history in a single view.
Discover the Unexpected
HTC Sense is focused on providing a variety of simple yet innovative experiences on your HTC phone. It can be something as basic as turning the phone over to silence a ring or as simple as improving the smart dialer for making calls quicker. HTC Sense also includes perspectives, a new way for viewing your content such as email, photos, Twitter, music and more in different ways.
The HTC Hero will be available to people across Europe in July and in Asia later in the summer. A distinct North American version will be available later in 2009. Check out their first look video below:
