Here’s a good news for all the samsung phone lovers we’ve got a glimpse of the Samsung S5620 Monte phone, courtesy of DailyMobile.

Samsung’s Star and Star 3G series of touchscreen phones have proved to be a huge success in India. The first of the Star models were the S5600 and the S5230 which were launched back in 2009. These devices were soon overshadowed by the Corby series, which again are selling like hot cakes. Almost a year down the lane, Samsung has decided to give the Star range a facelift. The Samsung S5620 is said to be the successor to the Star S5600 (also known as the Preston). The device, codenamed the S5620 Monte, looks quite a capable successor and packs in some decent features as well.

The handset is expected to be attributed with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface and appears to feature a 3” display screen. It is touted to proffer 200MB of onboard memory capacity and hosts a 3.5mm headset jack.

Samsung’s as-yet-unannounced device may offer Wi-Fi, 3G and HSDPA connectivity. It is cited to incorporate GPS support and a microSD card slot. The phone is also speculated to possess an in-built camera and Qualcomm processor.

There are whispers about the S5620 Monte running the company’s very own Bada OS too, but then again these are just unconfirmed rumors.

So information on pricing may have to wait until Samsung mouths the official word on their S5620’s release date.
