At the on-going Game Developers Conference 2010 in San Francisco, Sony Computer Entertainment revealed the much awaited Motion controller for PlayStation 3 console “The PlayStation Move”. Like with the Wii, you even have an additional, optional controller called the Sub- Controller. Sony will sell the Move controller separately and also as a bundle including PlayStation eye camera, Move controller and a game would be made available.

PlayStation Move controller will remind you of Wii’s Nunchuk but with a colored sphere on the top. It’s this sphere that helps PlayStation Eye detect the whereabouts of Move controller. Sony will offer the Move controller with spheres in sky blue, yellow, light green, pink and while color options. Alongside that, Subcontroller with direction buttons, analog stick and home button will also be paired with the Move. This Subcontroller comes handy in shooting and action games like dropped the word Arc for the Motion Controller.

Sony had already announced a lineup of Move controller friendly games last year at the GDC 2009. About 36 game developing and publishing companies will support Move controller. As a result, 20 game titles, Move-centric or Move-supporting, would be announced in the year of 2010-2011.
Microsoft’s Project Natal, a gesture control system for Xbox 360, is due for arrival in this Holiday season but by that time Playstation Move would have taken over. It would be a very interesting war between – Nintendo Wii’s MotionPlus, Sony PlayStation Move and Microsoft’s Project Natal. Let’s see comes up to the top
Sony Delays Launch Of PS3 Motion Controller
by admin on Jan.20, 2010, under Gadgets, Gaming, Technology

Sony has just announced that its motion control peripheral for the PlayStation 3 will not be shipped in Spring 2010, as originally planned.
“We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users,” says Kaz Hirai, boss of Sony Computer Entertainment.
“We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expand and define the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home”.
Its not the biggest shock, spring is around the corner and nothing much is seen/herd about the device, but if the delay brings in better games for the Fall, then ALL IS WELL.
